Jail To Bail : Allu Arjun Spends a Dramatic Night In Police Custody

Allu Arjun, a renowned Telugu film star, released from Chanchalguda prison in Hyderabad on Saturday morning, December 14, 2024 , following the Telangana High Court's decision . He was released from the custody at 6:40 a.m after securing interim bail from the High Court for four weeks. This development comes after a tragic stampede incident , that took place on December 4 at the premiere of his movie, 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' in Hyderabad's Sandhya Theatre. A massive crowd of fans gathered to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun, leading to a stampede-like situation that resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman named Revathi and injured her eight-year-old son. As per the reports,  Allu Arjun was arrested by city police on Friday and was taken to Chikkadpally police station . Then he was ordered , 14-day judicial custody, by the local court, and due to a delay in receiving the bail order, he has spent the overnight in jail. Moreover, during the actor's overnight stay at the jail, 7697 number of prisoners has slept on the jail's floor.
According to the sources, the incident has sparked an investigation, and Allu Arjun was arrested from his home and later he was granted interim bail. As per the latest report, the Telangana High Court granted Allu Arjun interim bail on a personal bond of ₹50,000. The court's decision came after the actor's lawyer argued that Allu Arjun's presence at the event did not constitute a criminal offense. th, the incident has raised questions about the safety and security measures in place at public events. The government and the police have faced criticism for their handling of the situation, with some alleging that the arrest was "fabricated". Meanwhile, Allu Arjun's lawyer , Ashok Reddy, , vehemently condemned the actor's arrest, labeling it an "illegal detention." Reddy expressed outrage over the jail authorities' handling of the situation, claiming they intentionally delayed Arjun's release despite receiving the court's order on Friday ,13 December 2024, from Telangana High Court.
Additionally, the public prosecutor argued that Allu Arjun should be held in judicial remand, citing that the actor's actions contributed to the chaotic situation at the Sandhya Theatre. Despite the police denying permission for the event, Allu Arjun and his entourage arrived, leading to an uncontrollable crowd.The prosecutor also alleged that Allu Arjun's cavalcade, for which there was no prior permission, added to the excitement and chaos. "By waving to the crowd from an open-top car", Allu Arjun inadvertently encouraged more people to join in, resulting in a rush into the theatre. However, the actor has expressed his condolences to the family and has stated that he will co-operate with the investigation.
Additionally, Allu Arjun was deeply saddened by the tragic incident at the Pushpa 2 premiere, which claimed the life of 35-year-old Revathi. As per the latest report , the actor, to extend his condolences and support, has donated ₹25 lakh to the victim's family. Furthermore, he has also taken the responsibility of covering the medical expenses of Revathi's injured eight-year-old son, Sri Teja, who is currently hospitalized. Meanwhile ,
the victim's husband has also clarified that the actor is not at fault for his wife's death and he is now willing to withdraw the complaint.
